Aviation safety and security is of paramount importance to CAAS. To ensure the continued safety of passengers in times of sudden and unforeseen events or incidents, CAAS oversees the business continuity and crisis management plans for the aviation sector.

Business Continuity Management

Volcanic eruptions may cause flight delays or even flight cancellations. Significant haze could affect visibility conditions and impact flight operations. The emergence of novel viruses such as Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) could pose a health risk to travellers. In aviation, such unanticipated events may disrupt aviation operations.

Business continuity planning is therefore necessary to minimise disruption to aviation operations. Working closely with our aviation industry stakeholders, business continuity plans are developed so that we can restore normal business operations as quickly as possible.

Crisis Management

In the event of significant disruption to aviation operations, we work hand-in-hand with our aviation sector partners on crisis management plans and processes. This partnership is made possible through the ongoing development, refinement and practice of these plans and processes. We conduct regular crisis management training exercises and simulations to equip our aviation professionals with the knowledge and skills to manage disruptions to aviation operations competently and effectively.
