If you are a Singapore flight crew licence holder, and intend to give flying instruction leading to the issuance of a Singapore flight crew licence, you must hold a valid Flying Instructor rating.

CAAS issues two types of Flying Instructor ratings:

1. Flying Instructor rating: This entitles you to give flying instruction in aircraft, of aircraft types as specified in the rating.
2. Assistant Flying Instructor (AFI) rating: This entitles you to give flying instruction in aircraft under the supervision of a Flying Instructor.
