Over S$280,000 was raised at the inaugural Aviation Community Charity Golf event, graced by Mr Ng Chee Meng, Minister for Education (Schools) and Second Minister for Transport. Organised by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the aviation community came together to raise funds for the Community Chest.
“I am glad that the aviation community has come together once again to help the less fortunate”, said Mr Ng. “Among those who will benefit from the funds raised at this charity golf are children with special needs, people with disabilities, and disadvantaged families. Every contribution we put into the Community Chest will go some way in helping to equip the recipients with the necessary resources and skills to lead better lives.”
Under the umbrella of Aviation Community Cares, the event is part of a larger initiative to bring the aviation community together to contribute to society in meaningful ways. Past events include the Aviation Run and Aviation Community Charity Movie, where aviation partners have teamed up to raise more than S$1.57 million for the Community Chest over the past nine years.
“Giving back to the community is something we hold close to our hearts. We are fortunate to have the strong commitment of the aviation community through the years to achieve this common goal,” said Mr Kevin Shum, Director-General of CAAS.
