Behind The Masks
Since the onset of COVID-19, our aviation workers have been working hard to secure our borders and they form the first line of defence against COVID-19. Despite the evolving challenges and risks they face, they continue to persevere, doing their best to keep returning Singaporeans, visitors and travellers safe.
Meet Ms Valerie Tan, a Duty Terminal Manager at Changi Airport. Her job is to ensure that the airport terminals operate as efficiently and smoothly as possible. She also helps to manage any situation on the ground, whether minor or major, to deliver the best Changi experience to every passenger passing through the airport.
Valerie knows her job is more than just ensuring safety and efficiency of operations. It is also about supporting passengers who are anxiously waiting to reunite with their families especially during this pandemic.
Being on the aviation frontline, the support from her family at home, and at work, has been an important source of encouragement. The added safety precautions and measures are also reassuring. They provide her and her fellow airport workers the peace of mind to feel safe while at work.
While it has been challenging, she knows everyone plays a part in enabling the safe reopening of air travel.

Our aviation workers exemplify courage, dedication, patience, and commitment to service excellence even during this challenging time. Join us as we honor our aviation frontliners like Valerie. #Making SingaporeProud
